Trinity Church is part of the national Church of Scotland, and, in common with other churches serves a recognised district or parish. In the first instance couples should make contact with the minister who will want to discuss all aspects of the religious ceremony, its meaning for them and its appropriateness in individual situations There is a suggested minimum donation of £400 for non-members and £300 for members. These sums contribute towards the cost of such things as heating, lighting and the organist’s fee.Where appropriate these donations may be made under the Gift Aid Scheme which enables the congregation – as a registered charity – to reclaim the tax already paid on the money.
Baptism is one of two sacraments recognised by the Church of Scotland – The other is the Sacrament Holy Communion.
The celebration of baptism is is a momentous event for everyone involved in the Church and is always part of a Sunday Service (except under exceptional circumstances)In the case of infant baptisms the Church expects at least one parent or close family member either to be a member of the Church or willing to become a member.
Trinity Church warmly welcomes and supports all those who genuinely come to profess their own faith and who promise to give their child a Christian upbringing. In the case of an adult baptism the individuals themselves make appropriate promises
” Go therefore to all nations and make them my disciples; baptise them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit….”
